Today:

  • We got to visit our new Makerspace room today! Ask me all about what I built! 
  • We had our first practice fire drill and did an amazing job following expectations. 
  • We had some finish-up time to complete unfinished work and worked on a Science worksheet.
  • We learned some new literacy games and had a chance to practice playing them!

    Hello everyone 

    As part of our learning about Matter and Waste Management, students will be creating a Reduce Waste Plan! They will be encouraged to look closely at the garbage they produce both at home and at school.

    Over the next week, students will:

    • 🗑️ Keep track of the waste they produce and what types of garbage they are throwing away.

    • ♻️ Categorize their waste (garbage, recycling, compost, etc.).

    • 🔎 Look for patterns and identify areas where they could reduce the amount of waste they produce.

    • 💡 Choose some realistic changes they can make at home or at school.

    • ✏️ Create a written Reduce Waste Plan explaining their ideas.

    • 🎨 Represent their plan in a poster and paragraphs to share their learning.

    We encourage families to have conversations about the waste your household produces and brainstorm ways to reduce, reuse, recycle, and compost. Students are not expected to have a “perfect” waste-free household—the goal is to notice our habits, think critically, and identify small changes that can make a difference!

    Today: - We did another STEM challenge called "paper chain." Ask me about it  - We started our first science unit called Matter. Today we made our title page and learned new vocabulary words  - We made bookmarks  - We continued to work on our self portrait art  - In P.E we played gaga ball  - We played Power of Ten Games   - We did our daily word work. Ask me what root words I learned today  - We continued our daily read aloud of "Wild Summer"  - We had some finish-up time today. We also had a class discussion about the importance of staying focused on our job, using our time wisely, and ALWAYS doing our best work. Please continue this conversation at home as well! - We chose our class reward for our star jar.
