Today:

  • We finished our Alberta literacy and math assessments! Ms. Wolsey is very proud of how hard everyone worked and how we all tried our best!
  • In Science, we learned about consumerism and waste. We discussed how the things we buy and use can create waste and impact the environment. Ask me what I learned!
  • We practiced our first literacy stations! Today, we focused on the read to self station and practiced what it should look and sound like when working independently. We did awesome!
  • We had an important class discussion about our lunchroom expectations and had a class reset. Ms. Wolsey was made aware by our lunchroom supervisor that some students have not been showing respect or following directions during lunchtime. We reviewed what respectful and responsible behaviour should look and sound like during lunch. Please continue this conversation at home by reminding your child about the importance of listening to and respecting all adults who help us at school. Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a safe, respectful, and positive classroom and school community!

We are so excited to be starting the 2026-2027 year with you!  This year, our whole school will continue to use Blogger to make regular agenda posts.   To make it easier for you, you can add the blog right on the home screen of your phone or iPad or tablet.  We hope this makes communication between home and school easier and opens great conversations between you and your child.   The CBE and Mrs. Brinson will be communicating important updates and information to you through School Messenger email titled , “ Northern Lights News for ___ ”.     Today: - We did another STEM challenge called "paper chain." Ask me about it  - We started our first science unit called Matter. Today we made our title page and learned new vocabulary words  - We made bookmarks  - We continued to work on our self portrait art  - In P.E we played gaga ball  - We played Power of Ten Games   - We did our daily word work. Ask me what root words I learned today  - We continued our daily read aloud of "Wild Summer"  - We had some finish-up time today. We also had a class discussion about the importance of staying focused on our job, using our time wisely, and ALWAYS doing our best work.
